Stock your fridge with these THC infused beverages

Weedmaps News August 29, 2019   5:52 pm PDT | Updated 2 years ago

There are more weed and alcohol companies that really want us to drink weed, and for some, we are here for it — if they are delicious, well-crafted and potent enough to write home about. And while smoking and vaping are not going anywhere, people may be considering swapping beer for bud at the bar.

The cannabis-infused beverage market is on a steady rise. MJBizDaily reported a 40% increase in cannabis-infused beverage sales in 2020, and that trend is looking up for 2021. And while the market has a long way to go to reach that coveted billion-dollar status in total sales, the purchase power of infused beverages is continuously rising — in 2019, sales reached $67.8 million while 2020 saw $95.2 million.

Here are eight CBD and THC-infused beverages worth throwing back.

Lagunitas Hi-Fi Hops

Zero calories, zero carbs, zero alcohol: all huge draws for anyone looking to try a weed-infused drink. This cannabis “brew” (read: sparkling water) from Lagunitas, a beloved Northern California brewery founded in 1993, is as delicious as it is innovative, receiving a wave of press as the first cannabis “beer” of its kind on the market in 2018.

You can find the 10 milligrams bottles or cans in dispensaries in California and Colorado, and the 5 milligrams CBD and 5 milligrams THC bottles in California only. Lagunitas very recently created an 18:2 CBD:THC brew found only in California as well, but the company says it hopes to enter more markets soon. Its THC and CBD extracts are grown by AbsoluteXtracts

Legal Beverages

These potent tonics by Mirth Provisions are well-liked weed beverages in Oregon, Washington and California. A nod to the end of cannabis prohibition, Legal offers brooding and elegant packaging in dark glass bottles. They are filled with unique and flavorful beverages, including an eye-opening Espresso Mocha. With 80 milligrams of THC, it's a fan favorite.

Legal Beverages' Sparkling Cranberry has 40 milligrams of CBD and is made with cranberries from a local farm on Washington's Long Beach Peninsula. Check out other flavors including Sparkling Lemon Ginger, Rainier Cherry and Pomegranate.

Keef Brands Cola

With a vast line of energy drinks, sodas, sparkling waters, and cocktail mixers, Keef Cola offers a little taste of everything for every type of consumer. Each can or bottle contains 10 - 500 milligrams of THC depending on the state in which you're buying it, with dosing caps for the higher percentage beverages. Always expanding its flavors and drink types, keep your eyes on Keef for new and interesting infusions.

Dixie Elixirs

This Colorado-born company is a staple in the well-established Rocky Mountains market. Since its founding in 2010, it has grown to serve California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma and now Canada. Dixie products use cannabis from quality growers, including Choice Labs among others.

Favorites in the Elixir lineup include the Half & Half, a tangy and sweet Arnie Palmer available in both 100 milligram and 200 milligram servings of THC; a sweet, slightly warm and spicy Root Beer that contains 100 milligrams per bottle; and the Berry Lemonade, a super-sweet purple lemonade, all of which are best served cold.

The cap of the drink itself makes for easy dosing, with a recommended 6 milligrams per serving to start. Dixie's lineup of beverages are gluten-free and vegan.

Cann

Each can of infused tonics from the trendy beverage brand Cann houses 2 milligrams of CBD and 4 milligrams of THC, offering a super-mellow way to enjoy a hot summer day or to lightly spruce up a juice of your choice. Flavors range from Lemon Lavender to Ginger Lemongrass, and if you desire something a bit more light, Cann has created the same original flavors but with less sugar

GFarmaLabs G Drinks

Founded in 2013, this original mom-and-pop operation has grown into a multi-state drinkable weed staple with its line of THC-infused edibles.

G Drinks come in tart, exciting flavors such as Pink Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Cool Blue Lemonade and Original Lemonade. The highest THC potency is 250 milligrams, ideal for a medical-strength cannabis lover who wants a strong edible that tastes like a summer day.

Two Roots

Two Roots is down with the consumers who enjoy cracking open a beer, but want to avoid the hangover — or alcohol altogether. With its line of infused non-alcoholic beers, the company caters to IPA enthusiasts, and in place of alcohol percentages, you'll get 5 - 10 milligrams of THC in every can.

Rebel Coast

From wine to seltzers, California's Rebel Coast is an elegant alternative to syrupy sodas. With 10 milligrams of THC in every serving, you'll still get that great buzzy feeling sipping away at happy hour — but with no headache or booze-induced stomach issues the morning after.

Tinley's

Makers of cannabis-infused mixers and elixirs, Tinley's bottles look right at home on any modern “weed cart” (the stoner's version of a bar cart). Its tonics come in High Horse, made with spicy ginger and lime and Stone Daisy with blue agave and lime. Each flavor is infused with a Pineapple Jack sativa strain to the tune of 10 milligrams of THC per bottle.

These little beauties are only 30 calories and contain just 6 grams of sugar per bottle. Best of all? They may remind you of your favorite alcoholic elixirs, without the hangover.

The company also offers “casks” of cannabis elixir that are ideal for making mixed drinks, including a Coconut Cask, Almond Cask and Cinnamon Cask, containing 85 milligrams of THC per bottle, with about 8 1/2 servings of 10 milligrams each.
